Ivanpah – The largest solar thermal project in the world

Recently PURE Energies became part of the NRG Energy, Inc. family. You may be wondering what it means for NRG, PURE and more importantly, you. To put it simply, we think it’s awesome.  Becoming part of the NRG family will allow us to further drive solar and home conservation adoption and empower more homeowners with clean energy.

“We are thrilled to work together with NRG Home Solar to put a stronger and more impactful foot forward. Joining forces, we will help make renewable energy a solid reality for the future of America. Being part of NRG Home Solar allows us to increase our abilities to support homeowners by facilitating the adoption of solar energy and home conservation products across the United States,” said Zbigniew Barwicz, President and CEO of PURE Energies Group.

So why are we so thrilled about the new partnership? Glad you asked. NRG is a Fortune 250 company, delivering retail electricity to almost 3 million residential and commercial customers throughout America. Not just an average utility, NRG is committed to driving innovation in solar and renewable power, electric vehicle ecosystems, carbon capture technology, and customer-centric energy solutions. Their involvement in projects such as Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System, the largest solar thermal project in the world, displays their strong commitment to renewable energy- which we couldn’t be happier about.

Here at PURE, we take humanitarian work seriously, so we are thrilled that NRG does too. Their efforts to bring solar power to rural areas of Haiti are just one example of this. PURE Energies has also proven commitment to giving back by partnering with the World Wildlife Foundation and The David Suzuki Foundation. We are looking forward to merging our philanthropic ideas to enhance the promotion of sustainability and community support. Basically, we are like the perfect couple.

Are we worried about the future of PURE? As with any new relationship, there will be change, which can make people uneasy. However, we joined NRG to benefit you, our customers. We may change in our ability to reach even more homeowners interested in adopting solar panels. We may change in our ability to deliver even better customer service. But at PURE, we are proud of our ability to positively impact the environment and work towards making renewable energy an anchor in our country’s energy production, and that’s one thing that won’t change.

“NRG strives to provide customers with the easiest path to assess the benefits of home solar,” said Kelcy Pegler Jr., President of NRG Home Solar. “With Pure Energies’ wealth of experience in connecting consumers to their full energy potential – combined with NRG’s strengths as a Fortune 250 company well-established in residential solar – consumers will have greater access to meet their solar needs.”

Together we will be increasing our reach and providing more incentives to help smart homeowners go solar. Alongside NRG, we will be able to improve and align with the largest energy retail in the United States. Moving forward we will help even more homeowners take control of their energy bills, which is what we started out to accomplish. We are excited for what we will achieve, and we are looking ahead to an empowered, renewable future.
